Mobile Plant Diagnosis UI/UX
Overview
I designed this site for mobile and app compatibility as an easy way for users to visually diagnosis their house plants. The site was designed as mobile-first making it easy for users to upload a photo of their plant and gt a diagnosis.
Understanding Scope
The project was designed and prototyped in Figma. The goal was to make a mobile site/app with the user-first design made easy for all plant enthusiasts.
Narrowing Focus
After initial mockups, I created a photo upload focused design that highlighted the ability to upload an image of a sick plant and easy get recommendations on how to solve the problem or purchase a new plant.
Being Realistic
The goal was to make an easy photo upload tool that could gain traffic via a blog and monetized with a plant resell shop. The site needed to be mobile first and simple to navigate on first use.
Increasing Usability
The main focus of the site is the &quo;Photo Diagnosis&quo; feature that has a strong ease of use. After testing and feedback, the site was reconfigured for easier usage with more back buttons and redirects back to previous pages.
Continuing Iterations
There have been several iterations of the site including text and image changes. While the initial design was meant as a mockup, I think there is a place in the plant space for an easy to use app that is mobile first and easier quick diagnosis plant issues.
Moving Forward
Looking back on the project, more focus can be spent:
- User onboarding → the funnel currently does not address initial user onboarding
- Further customization → additional tools should be added for ease of use
- More Navigation → adding a bottom navigation would be more useful for mobile app compatibility
